Visitors to the Bay... What an opportunity!
The July School Holidays are coming up faster than you think, and that means more visitors are heading for the Bay.
And with school holidays it means family holidays, with activities heading the list of things to do... whether it's whale or dolphin watching,
quad-bike riding or dunes tours, camel or horse rides, or on the water with parasailing, fast boats, or kayaks... we know there are hundreds of things to do in and around our Blue Water Paradise of Port Stephens, but do they?
And do our own locals know what's available right here in Port Stephens?
Sometimes one concentrates so hard on getting visitors here, we forget about telling them what they can do when they get here. And often forget about the potential of our own local residents. Many enjoy a "holiday at home" at this time of year, but still are looking for things to do.
Many of the visitors also stay with friends and family (some sources suggest this figure could be as high as 45%), or they contact local family and friends for recommendations on accommodation and activities. Not forgetting about where to buy that special something!
So retailers also need to take the opportunity to reach these visitors.
Remember that our locals are not just doing you a favour by giving you a referral or recommendation. We all ENJOY giving Referrals. Don’t you love recommending a great film you’ve seen to a family member or friend?
Local residents will actually get pleasure from giving the people they know the same experience they’ve had. So our locals also need to know and experience what's available. And what about those with permanent holiday homes here? They too will also make purchases, and at this time of year many do their redecorating or refubishments.
Word of mouth recommendation is an incredibly effective form of marketing, and to have people speaking positively about your business puts you ahead of the pack. Locals are your best referrers!
Radio is word-of-mouth! Radio advertising affects people in the same way as listening to their friends talking. Listeners invite their radio station into their lounge rooms, and even into their bedrooms for the company of a friend. It is with them in the garden and as they drive to and from work. All the time working to convey your message. To find out more about the benefits of radio advertising visit our Bay FM Website.
Bay FM 99.3 talks with locals AND visitors.
Talk with us, so we can talk with them! Contact us today so we can arrange a powerful and effective radio advertising campaign for these school holidays.
We would suggest a four week campaign commencing two weeks before the holidays (that's a commencement date of Monday 22nd June!) and continuing for the two weeks of holiday time.
